Have a little local Yoga Break in a nice room…

‘Having a Yoga Break’ (coming to class A LOT) Versus ‘Taking a Break from Yoga’ (skipping a class)

Sometimes a rest from your Yoga can work magic (quality not quantity); yes sometimes I give a class a miss when I feel that a rest will serve me more than the Yoga on that day. When you are new you have to be careful that it is not your lower mind (old poor habits) dictating this ‘tho!   Just because your mind feels a bit tired is not the perfect reason to skip a class.  Many of you know it is exactly those classes where you walked in feeling a bit tired after a day at work that you walk out of feeling elevated; that that class was so necessary to make you feel your ‘whole’ Self again.

The more you practice your Yoga habit the more in tune you will be with your body’s needs.  Therefore, so often it is the new practitioner who needs help and encouragement getting to class; highly unlikely that the regular practitioner needs advice on whether to take a class off; hence I focus on encouraging people to get to class as often as they can in this beginning Yoga class.

Ultimately it is all about balance. Sometimes you need to do a ‘lot of Yoga’. I call this ‘HAVING A YOGA BREAK’ from the rest of the world to get your head straight or regain a wellbeing state that may have been allowed to slide. A Challenge is an opportunity to have this Yoga break and get back on track.

Please register formally at the studio if you are planning to participate.  A Bikram Yoga class is about trying your best not about being the best; each class a practitioner invests their time, money and energy in is an important event; a chance to start all over again and put best foot forward.

But life exists outside the microcosm that is a 90 minute session and maybe it is not quite constructed to your ideal. The life you long for already exists; sometimes you just have to shift some of the ‘stuff’ to be able to see it clearly.   Practice can help you shed some of what you are not to reveal the REAL YOU and help you clarify what is important.  Time and space are your playground; But sometimes we all forget that we are in charge.  The self control that you attain in the disciplined environment of a Bikram Yoga class is a precursor to controlling everything else about your life.

Are you ready for the Challenge?

WARNING! A CHALLENGE SUCH AS THIS WILL HELP YOU FIND YOUR ENDURANCE LEVEL AND MAY ACCELERATE YOU REVISING YOUR WORLD VIEW TO BECOME A MORE FULFILLED HUMAN BEING.
